This is why we screen investment opportunities for competitive advantages generated through insights, which only work and experience in the relevant industry can bring. Knowledge of general trends and management tools is in abundant supply and hence not worth much when competing.
Entrepreneurs: For us it is decision-making rather than decision-analysis which drives impact and results. We appreciate that making decisions involves uncertainties, trade-offs and consequences. We look for people with the "heart" to take them, not just the "head" to examine them. If hands-on work and market feedback motivate rather than scare you, we would love to hear from you.
Investors: We are comfortable with concentrating our investments. Businesses started on unique industry insights by entrepreneurs with the right profiles, who have been vetted by our rigorous selection criteria, are worth betting appropriately on. Founder: Fermat Ventures was founded by Kai John. Kai has worked for global banking and insurance companies for more than 17 years. He holds a BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Specialists: The company works with a network of professionals based throughout Europe, the US and Asia. All of us have more than 10 years of experience in various service industries. Some of us engage on a case-by-case basis.
